We popped off the Weekend on Saturday with our Annual Outdoor Concert at East River Park. The weather was perfect and the vibe was supremely positive. It was so good to see so many familiar faces. People brought their families out: I'm talking kids, old folks, wives, and husbands...it was beautiful! It was like a big Hip Hop family reunion.
The Concert was nuts!!!!
Jess Jamez set the bar early in the day. Breez Evahflowing bodied his set. Tess was very professional. Mazzi (of Soul Purpose) was dancing his ass off. Poison Pen, Swave, J Arch, and Immortal Technique murdered the stage. Punchline and Fokis had the LES crowd in a frenzy. Kay M and ILL went in. Iron Solomon got it poppington. Sara Kana and Angel did their numbers...and the 3 Kings?? What can I say? So consistent...so effecient...so EODUB!!!!
The Power Cipher at the end of the night was nuts...Heads starting Bar B Qing on the side of the stage...the sun went down..and we had MCs rocking til the final minute of our Sound Permit...it was a classic EODUB Moment...
On Sunday we continued the celebration at Club Pyramid. The line was thick before the gates were even up. Once we popped open the doors, hungry MCs flooded into the spot and filled up the Sign Up list with the quickness.
I was celebrating very hard...so recollecting the events of Sunday night is not an easy task for me..however...I do remember the 3 Kings intro was crack agua. Kay M was killing it....Tru the God was in the building...Tru Knowledge, Access Immortal, Aliosha, Shira and a whole gang of EODUB regulars were in the house to support the Dub. I got the chance to rock a little Brooklynights, so I had to go hard. Poison Pen was mashing up the place. Then our showcase of the night, Mickey Factz, gave the public a performance to remember. The brother hit the stage in a suit and his set was as crispy as his threads.
