What up y'all? If you weren't at the Dub this Sunday you missed a great night of talent! The line was long and the emcees were hungry! The doors open, everyone signed the list and the night began.
The intro was done by the guest hosts iLL Answer, Kay M and Jess Jamez. As usual they set the tone for a very eventful evening. A lot of energy and Jess hit us with his classic 50/50 verse counting down 50 bars to 1.
Plenty of regular dub foot soilders were in the building. Eric Carthage, True Knowledge, Ox, Izreal, LMNOP, Desperado Soul, Kalil Kash and Joe Columbo just to name a few. Some noteable open mic performances came from Really Tight Productions ( you ain't a pimp c all ya mans is buns b). Also J. Monopoly and the rest of O.I.S.D. destroyed it with 2 fire songs. Oh and who could forget Kurt Kadets stage dive? We even had a new comer Shonuff who wow'd the ladies with a new song.
Along with the open mic artist the dub often has drop ins. We had MC Challenge winner Niles in the house who performed a song that had the crowd going insane. Also Majesty stopped in and hit us with some real hip hop. Poison Pen was also at the dub please be sure to pick up his CD "The Money Shot."
A night at the dub would not be complete with out some heavy showcases. 1st up was the lovely artist known as Tess. She was amazing, song after to song displaying professional vocals and style. She even had two back up singers 1 male 1 female and they were killing it! By the time she stepped off the stage she had everyone wrapped around her finger.
Next we had the Gecko bros go in with a crazy performance! But 1st we had to put on some affilates, D.H.E. Boys, Triboro and Atlas. Each did 2 songs each and put on for the crowd. Finally when the bros took the stage they hit us wit a dope selection of songs. Way to many to even name but these bros slayed a track named buck em. I definately like to see them back soon.
And that's pretty much it. We closed the night with a power cypha which featured an MC by the name 40 Bars who murdered a 40 bar freestyle (no pun intended.) Next week even better, i'll see I you there peace.
