Angel and Sara Kana jumped the night off with their single “Super Girls” and a quick cypher to warm up the mics. Leek, the first MC off the list, set the bar high and smashed it. The crowd really started to get amped when Top $ Raz came with big energy.
Which brings us to our next major moment of the evening, Kurt Cadet presents …....“EOCLUB”!!! His single, “Think you know but you have no idea” with it's crazy Tech-no sound, had everyone dancing and pulling out their glow sticks!!!
Moving on through the evening, everyone got to get out some bottled up aggression on the police ,with Marco's single “Fuck a Cop”. Big shout outs to Saludu, Kahlil Kash, Jon D, and True Knowledge for really bringing great energy to the stage.
Then as usual the longest weekly open mic in NYC brought you an exclusive cypher that will never be seen again! (Unless heads had time to pull out their cameras!)Poison Pen, Webbafied, Final Outlaw, Atlas, and Amazin came through out of no where, killed it and anyone who wasn't there really missed out!
Continuing the night, EOW's own intern, The Greatest MC of All Time, did a great job and brought his “A” game! Great name BTW:) Soon after EOW's own Jess Jamez Figueroa bodied two songs and one Eow's host for the evening, SK, bodied a song and murdered a quick aca that wowed the crowd.
Keeping up the momentum, Xtra went in on his self titled joint and then murdered a quick 16. He really just did his born day, hard body thing and then blessed us with a new EOW hook to chant!! If you didn't get him a drink, then you can catch him at the door next week again. We take Bday rain checks all day!!
Speaking of birthdays, Ryze was bananas for his bornday showcase! Nothing compares to his energy and catchy joints. If you were there, you felt the crazy vibe, that felt more like a mix-tape rockin than a showcase. You already know we got Moola which has definitely become the 09 anthem. The whole show was crack and left you wanting more.
Last but definitely not least, straight out of Philly, with tons of supporters, fans, and fam came Written House. They really represented for their hood as well as for The Dub and killed their showcase with smooth sounds. The live element to WH's production/ performance was really dope and gave the regulars a nice treat. Dope lyrics and great stage presence added to the success of their showcase and really topped the night off well!
Back to the list with R.E.M. Soldiers Eddie Hiz-Panik and debuting at EOW for the first time, his sis Zulka Her-Panik. Heads better look out for her in the future because she went in super hard body !!! Finally the night was over but not before Xtra, Ox, Jess,Webb, Pen, Angel, and Sara Kana said goodbye with treats.....
