End Of the Weak MC Challenge Re:Cap Apr. 19th by ProPayne

The excitement was building for weeks around Sunday nights EODUB. Not only was it going to be the first MC Challenge of the new season of the now world-wide EOW MC Challenge, but we were also for the first time streaming live online for our world wide contingent to tune in.

In addition to that, THE NEW YORK Times was coming through to interview US... I mean...Internet Blogs, We love you, Magazines, We need you, MTV2, you're an institution, But the New York Times Dun... That's...GLOBAL.

The core EOW team arrived at the Dub Cave at our usual time to discuss the details of our global domination and how it was to manifest itself that night. Everyone was there..Zoo, Vice, NoneZigg, James Double O Bong, Admiral Animal (AKA Physics, AKA R. Nathaniel AKA Webba'), V.Dot (AKA Vinyl Rich AKA NOT WEBB, AKA...) sorry got carried away,  Iron Solomon, Vanguard, Amy EODUB, Angel, Whitney UK DUB, John Public, M. Polo, Kay-Make a Move Dub, ILL Answer.. Yeah everyone except Me, Mr.Payne was stuck at the crib printing score sheets for the Challenge (sorry just venting).

We migrated in unison across Avenue A like an army poised to infiltrate the hearts and minds of the 40 plus people already waiting outside the Pyramid. I mean it was like Hollyhood, cameras out, flashes popping, the Dub army rolling, heads freestyling, NY Times photographers snapping shots,  Blog sites filming, audio recorders capturing authentic street freestyles and the night was young and still green (HAPPY 4/20).

The stage was set for an amazing night. The 3 Kings headed down to the dungeon of Pyramid with Iron S. to do a nice interview with the reporters about the Internet, and how it's affected Hip Hop...Needless to say we went in and could have elaborated for days. Feel free to comment in this recap on your view  of the new phenomena; "Internet Rappers, Alive and Screaming".  Got some Photo's snapped and it was time. The club was packed, energy was amazing and you've probably already been watching this on EODUBtv...but we went in...Holy shii... Freestyles we on some un charted water Sunday... Deep...Man we were meditating in a submarine style on the shiii.

The crowd was ready and the MC's were starved... The list was popped, like a crisp bottle of rose'. I'm proud of all the artist that come to EOW regularly. It truly creates an atmosphere of comfort, mutual admiration and a GOOD FUCKING TIMES. The first bunch on the list we are new Vets. So as a host and for the crowd were were really able to go in, and smash the performances...Chilly, the 30...something Russian from Bk set it off and had rough looking dudes shocked when he put in that work. K. Kash who is currently on our EODUB.com homepage did the new single"PayDay" download it now...Will wait... go on...Ok ...Ryze, slated to rock on Sunday the 26th 2009 tore the Dub up with the Anthem ...I already talk this record up too much, but who cares. it's my site..."I get Mooolah..." That song is radio ready, so if you're reading this and have a radio show...find it, download it, rotate it and remember Pro Told you. Leek, well done sir. it's hard to go after Moolah, and ya held it down, reeeee spect. Joe Columbo... man...new paragraph.

OK, so I am Mr.Branding. I know you see the guerilla stickering, flyering, ridiculous logos on everything from wood rings to T's, to buttons...I mean, I am literally on stage, wearing an EOW ring, T and Dog Tags, saying EODUB non stop in front of the...you guessed it EODUB banner. but JOE...JOE Columbo...got the Plain white T, and in Big ass Black Block Letters myspace.com/joecolumbo , I love it...check him out, shamless promo all day, if you have a brand, beat it in peoples head to death...EODUB.com..see.

I agree this is getting long, but I don't care. It's a post dub hangover Monday, and it's raining, so read on. Aliosha is a new MC that's been coming to EODUB for sometime now and doing some great stuff. He's got his own style and he's got original music...not rare at the Dub, but always appreciated, diversity is one of our core values. He also works at a dope bar my homie Darren "Whitehorse" Lampione (long story, basically, Italian kid from Queens moves to jamaica to 'live off the land' and inherits the name Whitehorse from local rasta man dem, bluck) is working at too. It's on 5th and 2nd avenue. south west corner, white facade,(can you tell i don't know the name of the joint). Anyway, Aliosha is good, ok.  Really tight Productions, another crew that's been repping heavy, they made some dope T's you have seen around, heres a link where Vice is rocking that shii

Then we got the Dub Assassin Marco P going and crushing the shit heavy... salute. Then I jumped on the mic to do back up Vocals for the EODUB Senorita...Angel.. "You don't know about this B*tch and you don't".. wait... you do wanna. She's going in, got some new music coming soon, stay tuned. John Public is becoming a new staple of the EOW camp. he got some things popping off too, so check for him. My young dudes Class Presidents hit us with a lil past and present flavor with the " Minor Major" shiii, nice to see younger MC's that wanna MC and not just rap, ya' eard! Good stuff guys!

You ever hit a show up, and the atmosphere is so serious you could cut the air with a knife. I mean you are literally scared of the crowd, everyone is frowning, even the guy doing his song is threatening to blow your head off if you don't cheer. well... We don't do that...We do do (ha)..LASER TIME ...OK, this started as a joke and has slowly become one of the funnest times of the show. This is when THAT dude who is usually at that OTHER show is at EOW and he can't fucking help but smile, break down, and maybe even throw his cell phone up and dance a little... it's when...Kurt Cadet does "This is Who I am"... oh man...If you've seen it you know....I hope this was filmed, if so, "Let's go to the video tape" I'll wait... go on...ok ... Kurt, as Solomon Jazz would say "You're one of another kind".

EOW is truly a global movement. We had our brother from across the pond up this weekend. Massive shout to People 's Army and their General, Logic. He's got a dope video out right now, peep it  http://tr.youtube.com/watch?v=LxnvUAxEmYo&feature=channel He truly showed us last night MC's come from everywhere, not just America. What up Snuff, Manage, King Pin, Stig and Jack... EODUB UK, what...People's Army / EODUB take over. Also a huge shout to Shabaam Sahdeeq who's back on the scene and still doing his thing. We know you all missed em, but he's doing his thing and he was going in at EODUB Sunday...Oh and one more thing...Greg NIIICE, Greg N I C E, Dame un Beso... yeah you know, legendary G Nice was at the dub Sunday night too, peep the drop online and stop missing classic nights...

OK I hate name dropping... as you just read.. But uhhh, Talib Kweli was spotted in the venue last night too! . So come one Hip Hop...Every Sunday, Pyramid, 101 Ave A..Say it together, E-O-Dub!

Challenge time... Just about.

EOW U.S. (since we going west and south we can't just be EOW NY anymore) is taking a special interest this year in finding the next champion. With that said we've been doing a serious campaign to get MC's to sign up on the site, EODUB.com, if they want in the MC Challenge. We've also been calling in MC's from Challenges past and opening it up again to past winners. The back story on this is that my EOW UK fam has won the world title two years in a row (Stig and Jack, what UP!) and EOW U.S. has a little chip on it's shoulder, just a little rivalry, lol...honesty is honesty...So we're going hard to find the US Champ who we hope will win the world final...

OK. So we got the Rhyme Off situation popped off last night and we had two amazing MC's in the final Rhyme Off. Quest from Connecticut and AM Zilla ...AM Zilla was already pre-selceted for the next Mc Challenge, but he was soo passionate about going in, he rhymed in the Rhyme Off, won his round, then won against Quest, (who will be in the next Challenge) in the final and was thrusted in to Sundays Challenge! The Hunger!

Prezzure, Jiggsaw Tha Puzzle, AP, AM Zilla and Niles... The stage was set!

This was a tremendous competition where every MC shined in at least one round and the crowd...well they were more than pleased to be a part of it. No need to expound, watch it all now on EODUB.com

We Laugh, We Scream, We Drink, We .... We get it in Every Sunday at End of the Weak.

Buy some merch, download some tunes and watch it all online...
