Make A Move" is a phrase that best describes this young man. If you're looking for persistence, creativity, and maturity, Kay M is an artist you must hear.
At 17, he started performing at open mics such as Court Tavern in New Brunswick, New Jersey, DJ Lazy K's "NETWORKING WEDNESDAYS" @ Club Vibe, and NYC's very own "Training Camp." Soon after, he finally found a home at New York's longest running open mic: "End Of The Weak." Through the open mic scene he's been able to show his versatility. His creditability rose at a 50 Cent concert, where he opened up the show in a competition and delivered a dynamic freestyle that threw the crowd into frenzy.
From there, other opportunities came about, such as Def Jam Battles on Comcast On Demand, Hip Hop Summit Battles in Harlem, Jumpoff.tv, VH1 Hip Hop Honors, TNY, China Club, Club Sleep, Brokers, Club Abyss, Montclair State University Lyrical Meltdown(Longside Sugar Hill Gang, Mysterious, Lyric, JUST, DJ Cali Cal and Papoose), Fight Klub, and Rock Steady's 28th, 29th, and 30th Anniversary.
His biggest accomplishment to date was in October of 07 where he was pulled out of a 106 & Park audience to battle live on air during the restart of the segment "Freestyle Friday." Kay M owned the crowd that day and caught the attention of several mixtape DJ's in the tri state area. Unfortunately Kay M's rise came to a brief stop when fellow MC and friend; D-Mobb, past away towards the end of 07.
Now with a new mind state, Kay M is preparing the world to see through his eyes and journey into his environment in a single titled "In My District," set to kick off June 1st 2008. This 21-year-old, also known as the "Veteran," is soon to be another poster boy for what it means to be great. Rap is something he does and hip hop is something he lives.
